- Concept

The Takanawa and Shinagawa Area is already a bustling area and a transport network center where everything comes together, from business to resorts located in the city. What the area needs is a new urban attraction center. Therefore, we are proposing a new and dynamic urban zone.
PRINCE TOKYO MICE CITY is based on the concept of providing an urban entertainment area with a wide range of diverse attractions that will appeal to the interests of every visitor. This complex is designed to add a little extra value to an already perfect area. PRINCE TOKYO MICE CITY will create a brighter future for the Takanawa and Shinagawa Area.

With the introduction of international flights at Haneda Airport, the development of transport networks around Shinagawa Station and the redevelopment conducted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the environment surrounding Takanawa and Shinagawa is showing rapid change. As business demands increase, we expect that the Takanawa and Shinagawa Area will develop into one of Tokyo's leading business zones. |
In the area north of Shinagawa Station, events are already underway to create a new type of urban development. This project fuses work environments with lodging, entertainment with convenient transportation. The goal is a visually pleasing area that serves as a modern and environmentally conscious city. On the west side of the station, work is underway to create features that will contribute to the surrounding community and establish coordinated city planning. This will be accomplished through the introduction of urban functions needed for that area to serve as an international business center for visitors and residents from all over the world. This international populace will be drawn to the area by the high-quality residencies that make full use of the Takanawa environment and by high-level commerce and services. | |

Currently, the Japanese government and the private sector are working together on the Visit Japan Campaign whilst releasing information overseas on the attractions to be found in Japan with the aim of boosting Tourism and achieving a total of 10 million foreign visitors a year. Japan has also worked to become the leading venue for international conferences in Asia, and a national effort has been made to set up and attract such conferences to Japan. In other MICE areas, we have also worked actively to hold and promote "MICE promotion Action Plan" due to the benefits these have in terms of boosting the national and regional economies.
The Japanese government has designated the year 2010, when major international conferences will be held including APEC and COP10, as "Japan MICE Year". As well as advertising internationally that Japan is the ideal place to hold MICE, the government will also be working to raise awareness of MICE domestically. As Haneda Airport becomes internationalized and the redevelopment of the Shinagawa area continues, Shinagawa will be required to play the role of Tokyo's gateway.
The Takanawa and Shinagawa Prince Hotels will work hard to involve themselves in the country's MICE program, contribute to the Visit Japan Campaign and revitalize the Takanawa and Shinagawa Area.
