Lake Towada is designated by the government as a National Park, and within this park, the Agency for Cultural Affairs has designated the scenery of Lake Towada as a Natural Monument, meaning that it is regulated to the same degree as an Important Cultural Property, in order to protect its magnificent scenery.

Cape Tappi
The northernmost tip of the Tsugaru Peninsula, Cape Tappi has a beautiful coastline facing the Tsugaru Straits, as well as attractions such as the Seikan Tunnel Memorial Hall, Tappi Wind Park, and Route 339, a national highway made of steps.

Senjoshiki
Fukaura town. In 1792, the local lord of Tsugaru was said to have spread out a thousand mats (sen-jo shiki) to hold a banquet when he made his inspection tour, thus giving this place the name of the Senjoshiki Coast.

Sannai-Maruyama ruins
Discovered unexpectedly in 1992, this suddenly became Japan's largest known Jomon period (prehistoric) settlement site.

Mt. Iwaki
Mt. Iwaki is 1,625m above sea level, the highest peak in Aomori, and has long been venerated as a focus of faith.

Juniko (The 12 Lakes), Aoike (Blue Pond)
This is the general name for 33 ponds, large and small, dotted throughout the vast beech forest. Of these, Aoike (Blue Pond) is the most well-known of the Twelve Lakes.

Anmon Falls
This is the general name for a three-drop waterfall, with drops of 26m, 37m and 42m along a tributary river in the Shirakami-Sanchi area.

Hirosaki Park
This park was created from the site of Hirosaki Castle. The keep, towers, and castle gate still remain, and the castle site is a nationally designated historical site, most of the buildings being Important Cultural Properties.

Lake Towada, Kankodai (Lake-viewing platform)
It provides a sweeping panorama of the peninsula and the deepest part of Lake Towada.

The Maidens' Monument
A bronze sculpture of two naked female figures facing each other. This symbol of Lake Towada is the work of Kotaro Takamura.

Towada Shrine
In the grove behind the Maidens's Monument, this shrine is said to have been founded by Sakanoue-no-Tamuramaro in the year 807.

Juon Bell (Forest Gratitude Bell)
This bell was cast to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the national park. It sends forth its beautiful tone every hour from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Korakukan Hall
Built in 1910, this is the oldest wooden theater remaining in Japan, and regular performances are held here. In early July there are also performances of kabuki.
