If you’re coming with the family, get warmed up at the Mitsumata Family Course. Intermediate and advanced skiers can enter Kagura via the gondola, enjoying great views of the Echigo Sanzan mountains in the distance, and enjoy the natural, ungroomed snow. Far below is the cobalt blue Lake Tashiro. But don’t get carried away by the beauty; check-in at Wada Goya is 3 pm!

Shigeo Cho, head chef
Born in Minami Uonuma City, Niigata. Joined the Naeba Prince Hotel in 1992, and honed his skills at several Japanese restaurants. He moved to Kagura Ski Resort in 2022, and is charge of Wada Goya and Restaurant Kagura, both cooking daily and creating the overall menus.

Recharge with rice cooked the old-fashioned way
On your First Track morning, getting up early is a must. The rice served at breakfast is the famous Koshihikari rice from nearby Minami Uonuma, cooked in an old-fashioned kama. Enjoy this sweet rice with the chef’s signature eggs. Then comes the highlight of the trip: the start of a spectacular skiing experience.

Early morning, 7:30 am. Before your eyes is a pure white ski slope, with not a soul around. For everyone who loves skiing or boarding, there’s nothing like an untracked slope with a cover of fresh powder. The famous Kagura Main Slope is available before the opening of normal business for you to enjoy, all by yourself. Below is a vast panoramic views of snow-white ski slopes. Carving lines or bouncing through powder, draw as many lines as you like across the slope. Fantastic views that you can only see as you speed across the snow.
