Q1: What is the feature of Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Area?

A1:  Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Area has a panoramic view of Mt. Asama. We offer good condition trails mainly for beginner and intermediate level skiers,

as well as snow parks.

The weather is almost always fine, and the course layout is enjoyable for both children and adults, from beginner to advanced one. Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Area has a panoramic view of Mt. Asama.

We are equipped with 195 snow cannons and 8 snow machines, so you’ll always enjoy good conditions. As we offer Ski rental, you can enjoy winter sports easily.

Q2: Do you have a ski rental service?

A2: Yes, we do offer a ski rental service. The latest ski and snowboard rental gears are available at Karuizawa Ski Center as well as Karuizawa Prince Hotel

East ski area.

Gloves, goggles and beanies can be purchased in the Ski Center or Karuizawa Prince Hotel East store.

Q3: What is “Kids Free” program?

A3: In Prince Snow Resorts we offer “Kids Free” program which allows free use of children under 12 years old.

When you make a reservation for accommodation, please do not book “Ski Pack” if you are traveling with children aged 7-12 years old, as children 7 years old or older are counted as an adult and charged a normal adult charge.

Q4: Where can I put my luggage when I enjoy skiing?

A4: Coin lockers are available in Snow House. Snow House is a convenient facility equipped with coin lockers in the changing rooms.

You can leave your clothes and luggage when you arrive. It has a lounge and a nursing room as well.

Guests staying in the Hotel West Wing Twin Room, locker is available for free from Check In until Check Out.

Q5: Is there a ski lesson?

A5: I can’t understand Japanese… don’t worry! Karuizawa has ski schools with private lessons in English. Advance bookings are highly recommended.

<Ritmo Snow Academy (former Okabe Tetsuya Ski School)>

Reception: West – next to the ski rental area in the locker room; East – next to the ski rental area

They offer private ski lessons as well as group lessons, which do not require reservation.

Also, especially for complete beginners, they offer “SKI EXPERIENCE”, which is a group lesson in English without using a ski lift. (Reservation is not necessary)

<Panda Le Mans Kids School>

Reception: Snow House in Karuizawa Prince Hotel Ski Area (East)

School limited to children from 3-9 years old on special lesson courses with artificial mats. Introduce “Special skis for lessons” developed for increasing proficiency. Panda Le Mans uses unique equipment and teaching methods to make learning to ski or snowboard fun and easy. Lessons are available in English and Chinese.

The lesson fee includes, a set of ski, ski boots and helmet. Please have ski wear, underwear, knitted cap , gloves, long socks as well as goggles ready on your side.

Q6: Is there any activity for those who do not ski or snowboard?

A6: Our ski resort also has plenty of activities for those who do not ski or snowboard.

  • Sightseeing Lift (East High-Speed Lift)

Ride the lift and enjoy a stroll across the sky. From the 1,155-meter peak, you can see Mt. Asama, other peaks in Nagano, and the townscape of Karuizawa.

*Scheduled to be open Late December until the ski resort closes.

  • Karuizawa Ski Night Tour (East High-Speed Lift)

Board the East High-speed Lift, and enjoy the starry sky and a dreamlike night view of Karuizawa from the peak.

*It will be open every Saturday from late December to early March.

  • Night Adventure

Night Cruise

Enjoy the night view and starry sky as you explore the ski area in an illumination boat at night.

*Scheduled to be open Monday to Friday, from late December to early March.

Snow Buggy

Drive a buggy by yourself toward the peak in this activity.

*Scheduled to be open Monday to Friday, from late December to early March.

*Admission is charged for all activities.

Q7: Is there any place to play for kids?

A7: Yes, we do have a place to play for kids.

Snow Park

Lots of amenities like a snow escalator, bouncy house, tubing, and more! Safe for little kids too.

West Chibikko Land (Exclusive to guests of Prince Hotel)

Next to the Usagiyama Lift, you can play in the sledding area, the snow play area, on the swings, or try tubing in this park for kids.

*Scheduled to be open Saturdays, Holidays, Year End and New Year’s while the ski resort is in operation.

*Admission charged. (Children under 1 years old and accompanying guardian are free of charge.)

*Intended for children up to elementary school level.
