Change into gorgeous hakama rented from the Hotel and tour the city of Otsu!
The “Omi-jingu” shrine in Otsu was built in 1940 to enshrine Emperor Tenchi who had designated Otsu as the nation’s capital in the year 667.
As Emperor Tenchi composed the first poem in the “Ogura Hyakunin Isshu” anthology of Japanese waka poetry, a national tournament for competitive Karuta (a card game of Hyakunin Isshu) is held here every year. This shrine is a popular sightseeing spot as it is a famous setting in manga and films that are based on competitive Karuta.
The comfortable hakama is the perfect outfit for strolling around the city.
Choose your favorite hakama from the various pieces available and look forward to your tour around Otsu!
