Shiga Kogen Trails

Shiga Kogen is made up of 19 ski areas covered by one lift pass. There are approximately 80 trails offering a large variety of terrain for any type of skiers and snowboarders. There is also a free shuttle bus service for lift ticket holders that transports guests around the region. Thanks to Shiga Kogen’s high-altitude, which rises to over 2,000m, the area receives large quantities of dry powder snow.
The largest individual ski area is Yakebitaiyama, which has 15 trails, including a long 2,500m trail. Yakebitaiyama’s Olympic Trail was the location for the snowboard race, and Downhill ski race during the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. Yakebitaiyama features Shiga Kogen’s only terrain park with various features to keep freestyle riders occupied.
