Expo Commemoration Park is a cultural park developed on the site of the 1970 Japan World Exposition (Osaka Expo).
The Tower of the Sun, designed by artist Taro Okamoto and built as part of the Osaka Expo's theme pavilion, is one of the structures that remained after the expo closed, along with the EXPO '70 Pavilion.
Although it was generally closed to the public after the expo, it began public viewing in 2018. Expo Commemoration Park, where you can feel nature close to the city center, offers different views throughout the seasons on its vast 260-hectare grounds.
You'll see green trees and blooming flowers in spring, feel a cool breeze from the waterfall in summer, watch trees turn red and susuki grass sway in autumn, and experience a quiet, somewhat lonely atmosphere in winter when everything is asleep.

Expo Commemoration Park also offers attractions like an athletic tower and a giant maze for small children, as well as facilities for an authentic hands-on barbecue.
Among these is the cycle boat, which you can ride on the Dream Pond. You can choose your favorite from six types of boats: swan-shaped, black swan-shaped, jet-shaped, cup-shaped, tent-shaped, and whale-shaped.
