MANZA ONSEN

Located in the bosom of Mt. Shirane at an altitude of 1,800 meters, Manza Onsen is known, along with Nigorigo Hot Spring, as Japan's highest hot spring accessible by a private car year-round and is referred to as “the closest hot spring to the stars.”
It is also famous as one of the best alpine hot springs in Japan and is situated in an environment that closely resembles the world's three major longevity zones.
Blessed with abundant hot spring water since the ancient times, the Manza Onsen boasts 27 types of spring water, various health effects, and many anecdotes of curing many incurable diseases.
You can also reach Manza Onsen from Karuizawa via the Asama-Shirane Volcano Route, which traverses the 60-km-long Joshin'etsukogen National Park.
Enjoy a comfortable drive in the great nature while traveling through a gentle curve from Karuizawa to Mt. Shirane.
