OH-SAI Lounge

This is a private lounge only for guests staying at TAKANAWA HANAKOHRO. Various Japanese cultural activities such as matcha grinding and kikizake (sake tastings) are available to make your stay full of unforgettable memories.

A Japanese-style lounge features multiple tables and cushioned chairs arranged on tatami flooring. Wooden lattice partitions divide the space, while recessed ceiling lighting provides even illumination throughout the room. Each table includes seating for small groups, creating a quiet and comfortable setting for refreshments, conversation, or relaxation. Large windows and natural wood finishes contribute to the warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Recommendations

A guest participates in a traditional Japanese tea experience using a stone tea mill placed on a wooden table. The tea-making setup includes a hand-operated mill, serving tray, and a bowl of sweets accompanied by matcha-flavored treats. Fresh flowers and greenery are displayed nearby, while the table setting provides a calm environment for guests to learn about Japanese tea culture through a hands-on experience.

A sake tasting experience is presented at a table with several bottles of Japanese sake and small tasting glasses filled with clear sake. Guests can sample different varieties while seated at the table, using tasting notes and serving trays provided as part of the experience. The setting offers an opportunity to explore Japanese brewing traditions, flavor profiles, and regional specialties in a comfortable indoor environment.
