Notice of the installation of a booth for offering gomagi “Gozan no Okuribi” – “Matsugasaki Myoho”

On August 16, the traditional summer event Gozan no Okuribi (Daimonji Bonfire) lights up the Kyoto night sky in remembrance of ancestors.

At our hotel, we will set up a special space where guests can write their wishes on gomagi and make an offering. These gomagi will be respectfully handed over to the Matsugasaki Rissho Association, a public interest incorporated foundation, and will be ceremonially burned at the fire base of the “Matsugasaki Myoho” bonfire.

Join us in honoring this cherished tradition while expressing your hopes and prayers.

Tradition says that your wish may come true,
if you write a wish on a GOMAGI and dedicate it.

GOMAGI is a piece of wood for burning when Gozan Bonfires is lighted.
