Osaka Castle is one of the most famous castles in Japan. Construction began in 1583 during the Azuchi-Momyama Period under the command of local warlord Hideyoshi Toyotomi. The tower burned down in 1615 and remained in ruins for 266 years until 1931 when it was rebuilt and could once again grace the Osaka skyline.
