The water served at Shiga Kogen Prince Hotel is taken from a stream that runs near the hotel.
The collected water is transported to a water storage tank on site and filtered many times to purify it to a level safe for drinking.
After use, the wastewater is once again transported to a separate storage tank in the facility, where it is again filtered over and over again and returned to the stream from which it was collected.
The stream from which the hotel collects water, the Zokogawa River, is home to many creatures that can only live in clean water, including the precious native char.
The water is purified to a level that does not affect the ecosystem, and the wastewater is returned to nature, thus achieving a recycling society unique to Shiga Kogen and coexistence with nature.
