Notice Regarding the Introduction of Accommodation Tax

We would like to inform you that the Hokkaido Accommodation Tax and the Furano City Accommodation Tax will be introduced for stays from Wednesday, April 1, 2026.

■ Accommodation Tax Rates

• Less than JPY 20,000 per person per night: JPY 300
  (Breakdown: Furano City JPY 200 + Hokkaido JPY 100)
• JPY 20,000 to less than JPY 50,000 per person per night: JPY 500
  (Breakdown: Furano City JPY 300 + Hokkaido JPY 200)
• JPY 50,000 or more per person per night: JPY 1,000
  (Breakdown: Furano City JPY 500 + Hokkaido JPY 500)

The accommodation tax is charged separately from the room rate.

■ Tax Exemptions

• Children, pupils, students (excluding university students), and accompanying staff participating in school trips or other school events organized by schools as defined under Article 1 of the School Education Act
• Children aged 3 and over, and accompanying staff participating in group activities organized by certified childcare centers, nursery schools, or family-type childcare facilities
