Q1.What kind of a place is Manza Onsen?
A1.Located at 1,800 meters above sea level, it is the highest hot spring in Japan that can be visited year-round.
Q2.What are the health benefits of Manza Onsen?
A2.It is effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, sensitivity to cold, joint pain, recovery from fatigue, and musculoskeletal disorders.
Q3.Are you springs circulated? Or is it free-flowing?
A3.All of our 20 baths are free-flowing. It boasts high water quality and abundance of water sourced from an eruption of 5.4 million liters of spring water each day.
Q4.What is the temperature of your hot springs (source water)?
A4.The Ubayu Spring, which is primarily drawn by the Manza Prince Hotel and Manza Kogen Hotel, is at about 80℃. The source water temperature changes due to the climate. The temperature is adjusted by natural temperature drop and heat exchange in the hot water withdrawal pipe, and water is added as the final adjustment method.
Q5.Do you rent out towels to day-use customers?
A5.* A face towel is included in the day-use fee.

Q6.Are soaps, shampoos, conditioners, etc. available?
A6.They are available at the large communal area.
Q7.Are lotions and other skin care products available?
A7.They are available in the female bathing area. (Not available at the Manza Kogen Hotel).
Q8.Is it safe to drink the spring water?
A8.It is undrinkable, as it is too acidic.
Q9.Can your hot springs be rented out for private use?
A9.Manza Prince Hotel and Manza Kogen Hotel currently do not have private rental baths.
Q10.Can you enter a bath with a swimsuit in your communal baths?
A10.Swimsuits are prohibited. You may rent a special bath towel at the front desk.
Hotel guests: Free. Day-use guests: 300 yen.
You can also purchase a special onsen wear "yuamigi" for use in hot spring at our store.
Q11.Please describe the water components and quality.
A11.Acidic, sulfur-magnesium-sodium-sulfate hot spring.
Q12.What exactly is a sulfate hot spring?
A12.There are many types of sulfate hot spring. Sulfates are colorless, transparent, and odorless, but Manza Onsen contains sulfur components that turn cloudy and smell sulfurous when exposed to air.
Q13.What conditions or diseases prevent a person from entering the bath?
A13.Diseases in progress (e.g., acute illness (especially with fever), malignant tumor, active tuberculosis, severe heart disease, respiratory failure, renal failure, hemorrhagic disease, severe anemia).
Q14.I have allergies, but is that OK?
A14.Just to be safe, please analyze the water quality and thoroughly consult your attending physician.
Q15.Is your hot springs accessible all day long (24 hours)?
A15.Yes. However, some bathtubs may not be available during cleaning times.
Q16.Do you sell any hot spring tickets or passes for day-use guests?
A16.You may use the Yumeguri Tegata passes issued by the Manza Onsen Tourist Association.

Q18.Why is each bathtub colored differently in the Sekitei Rotenburo?
A18.The Sekitei Rotenburo is a mixed spring consisting of four different sources (Ubayu, Dainigayu, Ryusen No Yu, and Tsumatori No Yu).
* Each bathtub consists of different water components.
Q19.Do you have any other features besides regular bathtubs?
A19.Manza Onsen is a hot spring with great health benefits and suitable for high altitude medical treatment. We therefore do not provide saunas, bubble baths, electric baths, or bedrock baths. Sufficient hot bath effect can be achieved by simply soaking in our water.
Q20.Are there handrails at your bathtubs?
A20.They are installed along the entrance and exit of each bathtub.
Q21.Do you have foot massagers?
A21.Manza Prince Hotel: A foot care salon is available.
Manza Kogen Hotel: Orthopedic and foot massagers are available.

Q22.Do you have footbaths?
A22.There are no footbaths in the Manza Onsen area.
Q23.Can I take baths at both Manza Prince Hotel and Manza Kogen Hotel?
A23.Hotel guests can enjoy baths at both establishments for free.
It is not free for day-use guests.
Q24.What are the white things floating in the bathtubs?
A24.They are hot springs mineral deposits. The original source water is transparent, but turns cloudy white when exposed to air, which can crystallize hot spring components.
