Shared Bicycles & Rental Bicycles
Enjoy a refreshing ride along the lakeside with Charichari, a bicycle-sharing service that lets you experience the pleasant breeze of the waterfront.
Bicycles can be rented and returned at ports located near Otsu Station, Otsu Port, and other convenient locations. The app allows you to easily lock and unlock bicycles and make payments.
We offer children’s rental bicycles for our guests. This service is available for your convenience while exploring the attractions of Otsu City.
From April 2026: Traffic Violation System Now Applies to Bicycles
Starting April 1, 2026, the traffic violation system known as “blue tickets” (traffic violation notification system) will be introduced for bicycle-related traffic offenses.
When using shared bicycles, please be sure to follow traffic rules and ride safely.
Charichari
To use Charichari, advance registration is required via your smartphone. All services—including unlocking and locking the bicycle, as well as payment—are handled through the Charichari app.
In addition to the port located at Biwako Otsu Prince Hotel, Charichari ports are also available at convenient locations such as Otsu Station and Otsu Port.

■How to Use Charichari
1.Click the link button below to access the Charichari website and download the Charichari app to your smartphone.
2.After launching the app, follow the on-screen instructions to create an account and register your payment information.
Visit a Charichari port and scan the QR code on the bicycle using the app’s camera. The bicycle will unlock automatically, and you can begin your ride.

Rental Bicycles
We offer children’s rental bicycles (22-inch size) and helmets. We invite you to enjoy sightseeing around Otsu City with your family.
*Please note that children’s bicycles may only be used when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
