Shiga Kogen Trails
Shiga Kogen is made up of 18 ski areas covered by one lift pass. There are approximately 80 trails offering a large variety of terrain for any type of skiers and snowboarders. There is also a free shuttle bus service that transports guests around the region. Thanks to Shiga Kogen’s high-altitude, which rises to over 2,000m, the area receives large quantities of dry powder snow.
The largest individual ski area is Yakebitaiyama, which has 19 trails, including a long 2,430m trail. Yakebitaiyama’s Olympic Trail was the location for the Snowboard Men’s & Women’s Giant Slalom and Alpine Skiing Men’s & Women’s Slalom during the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. Yakebitaiyama features Shiga Kogen’s only terrain park with various features to keep freestyle riders occupied.
