Emperor Nintoku’s Tumulus (Daisenryo Kofun)

An ancient tomb in Sakai City, the Emperor’s tomb. It is one of the three largest tombs in the world, along with the Pyramid of Khufu and the Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor, and is a keyhole-shaped tomb. It is said to have been built in the early to mid-5th century, and is one of the tombs that make up the Mozu Kofun Group, and is the largest tomb in Japan. It is adjacent to the lush Daisen Park, which also has a lawn square and a Japanese garden.

Access: From the hotel, you can take the Nankai bus from ATC to Sakai Station (approximately 30 minutes), Sakai Station to Sakai City Museum (approximately 15 minutes).
