Trappistine Convent

Surrounded by groves of trees, this mysteriously beautiful building was the first nunnery in Japan. The convent, built in red brick that brings back memories of the good old days, still houses about 70 nuns who follow the precepts of St. Benedict, and provide for all their own needs.
