The castle was home to
the Ito Clan for 280 years until the beginning of the Meiji Period
after the feudal lord Suketaka Ito took up residence there in 1588. The
castle’s samurai residence still features many stone walls and houses
from the past, allowing visitors to picture how life was back then.
