Hachimanyama Ropeway
Mount Hachimanyama in Omihachiman, Shiga is the location of the ruins of the Hachimanyama Castle built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s nephew Hidetsugu. It takes around 4 minutes from the mountain base to the peak. Climbing to the summit on the ropeway will give you a view of Lake Biwa, Azuchi Castle, and the old castle town Omihachiman.
