Recommendations

Kashiwa Mochi

Kashiwa Mochi is a type of Japanese rice cake traditionally served on May 5th, Boys’ Day (Tango no Sekku), as a symbol of good luck.

Since Edo period (1603-1868), there has been a unique Japanese custom of eating Kashiwa Mochi on Tango no Sekku. As the old leaves of Kashiwa (oak) do not fall off until new leaves sprout, resembling the new shoots as children and the old leaves as parents, they convey a meaning of “family heritage” and “posterity”.

On May 1 to May 6, we will be serving Kashiwa Mochi from 2:00P.M.

Period: Thursday, May 1 – Thursday, May 6

Time: From 2:00P.M.

*Quantities are limited.
